Description

Description: Irregular, oval to rounded crown to 20-30’ tall, small fragrant white flowers in 3” raceme bloom in mid-spring, elliptical to obovate leaves emerge green turning maroon-purple in summer and fall with golden yellow to orange fall color, often suckers from root system, susceptible to many insects and diseases especially black knot

 

Winter Characteristics:  Reddish-brown twigs with white lenticels and pointy buds, not pleasant if severe black knot issue

 


Spring Characteristics:   Fragrant white flowers in 3” raceme and bright green emerging leaves
