Study Room Use Guidelines

The primary purpose of the group study rooms is to provide a place for students to engage in collaborative and cooperative study in small groups. Permanent assignment of rooms is not made to any particular academic group or social organization.  Group study rooms are only available to current MATC students.

You must use your MATC student email account (your-user-name@gmatc.matc.edu) to book your room.  If you do not arrive within 10 minutes of your start time, your booking will be released to other users.  You are limited to a maximum of 15 hours of bookings per week and a maximum of 3 hours of bookings per day.

Our study rooms are available for academic purposes only and may not be used for any for-profit purposes. Group study rooms are not available for functions such as classes, lectures, seminars, interviews, or office hours.  While single users are allowed to book a study room, they will be asked to vacate the room for groups of 2 or more studying together that request use of a study room. Rooms cannot be reserved or held by placing personal belongings in them. Unattended items will be removed and sent to the Public Safety Office lost and found.

These rooms are considered a group study area and are not soundproof; please be courteous in regard to noise levels. Groups that are excessively noisy and disturb others may be asked to vacate group study rooms. The windows and doors in the group study rooms may not be locked, blocked, or covered.  Lights may not be turned off.  Equipment in the room (computers, scanners, televisions, etc.) is not to be moved.

Patrons who do not follow these rules will be given one verbal warning to clarify the policy and expectations.  Failure to comply following a verbal warning may result in all users in the room being asked to vacate the study room, and may result in forfeiture of future use of the rooms.  If the room is damaged during use, the person listed on the booking will be responsible and billed for damages.

These rules are subject to change at any time.  By signing up for the room, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
