How to Avoid Plagiarism

Plagiarism is using someone else's work without giving him or her credit.  This  includes text, ideas, images, videos, and audio. When you are writing your essays, you must follow these rules:

• When you use the exact words from any source, you must use quotation marks and provide a citation. 
• When you put information from another source into your own words, you must provide a citation.

• Use quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing, to include another writer’s words or ideas into your paper.
• Credit the author by citing that source with an in-text citation in the body of your paper.
• Then include a full citation of that source, on the Works Cited or Reference page, which is the last page of your paper.
