1. Purpose
The MATC Tutor Engagement Tracker and Lucky Draw is designed to recognize and reward students who actively utilize tutoring services provided by the Academic Success Center (ASC). This initiative aims to encourage deeper engagement with our tutors and highlight the benefits of personalized academic assistance.
2. Eligibility
- Eligible Participants: All currently enrolled MATC students who are actively receiving tutoring services from ASC tutors or staff are eligible to participate.
- Ineligible Activities: Students utilizing the Academic Success Center for reasons other than tutoring are not eligible for Tutor Engagement Tracker and Lucky Draw entries. This is specifically for students engaging in individual walk-in or scheduled group tutoring sessions facilitated by our staff.
3. How to Earn Tutor Engagement Tracker and Lucky Draw Entries
Entries into the Lucky Draw are earned by actively participating in eligible tutoring sessions.
- Tutor Engagement Tracker Cards: Students will receive a Tutor Engagement Tracker Card from the front desk staff, tutor, or ASC staff. This card will be used to track eligible tutoring sessions.
- Earning Tutor Engagement Logs:
- In-Person Walk-In Tutoring Sessions: Each tutoring session lasting at least 10 minutes earns one (1) Tutor Engagement Log on your Tutor Engagement Tracker card.
- Scheduled Group Tutoring Sessions: Each full attendance at a scheduled group tutoring session facilitated by a tutor earns one (1) Tutor Engagement Log on your tutor Engagement Tracker card. Partial attendance may not qualify for a stamp.
- Verification: At the conclusion of each eligible session, your assigned tutor or an ASC staff member will log your session on your Tutor Engagement Tracker card by stamping the MATC logo and entering the date of the attended tutoring session. It is the student's responsibility to present their card to receive the log entry and ensure their session is properly recorded.
- Submitting Entries: Once a Tutor Engagement Tracker card is fully completed (5 Session stamps/entries), it becomes one (1) entry into the Lucky Draw. To submit an entry into the Lucky Draw students must write their full name, student ID #, and telephone # clearly on the back of the completed Tutor Engagement Tracker card and deposit it into the designated Lucky Draw drop box at the Academic Success Center front desk.
4. Entry Accumulation Period
- Entries (completed Tutor Engagement Tracker cards) will be accumulated over 5-week periods.
- Lucky Draw drawings will occur on the second Monday of each month throughout the semester. For specific drawing dates, please see section 6, Drawing Dates and Notifications.
5. Prizes
Prizes for the Lucky Draw may vary each drawing period and may include items such as program-related tools (tape measures, etc.), relaxation goodies (puzzle books, games, etc.) and study aids.
6. Drawing Dates and Notification
- Drawing Schedule: Lucky Draw drawings will take place every second Monday of the month approximately at 4 p.m.
- Winner Notification: Winners will be notified via the phone number provided on the back of the Tutor Engagement Tracker card within 24 hours of the drawing.
- Unclaimed Prizes: If a prize is not claimed by end of day (8 p.m.) of the Wednesday following the Monday drawing, an alternate winner may be drawn on the Thursday following the initial drawing.
7. Prize Claim
- Winners must present their valid student ID to claim their prize at the Academic Support Center front desk during operating hours.
- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
8. Disqualification
The MATC’s Academic Support Center staff and tutors reserve the right to disqualify any entries found to be fraudulent, manipulated, or not in adherence to these policies, rules and guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, falsifying Tutor Engagement Tracker cards or misrepresenting session attendance.
9. Fairness and Transparency
- All drawings will be conducted fairly and randomly from the collected and completed Tutor Engagement Tracker cards.
- The integrity of the Lucky Draw is paramount, and all efforts will be made to ensure a transparent process.
10. Modifications
The Academic Support Center staff reserves the right to modify these rules at any time for the betterment of the program, provided that any changes are clearly communicated to all students in advance.
