Wednesday, April 10th: National Library Outreach Day

A day dedicated to library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are, and providing community outreach. Did you know that the MATC Libraries are open to the public, including the Seed Library at the Mequon Campus and the Catherine Lechmaier Makerspace at the Oak Creek Campus? The MATC Libraries also run the MATC Archives, located at the Milwaukee Campus, which provides access to some resources digitally. Check out each of these special collections below!

MATC Archives
The MATC Archive collections depict this growth by illustrating how the college’s academic programs have evolved to meet the changing needs of the Milwaukee business and manufacturing communities. It contains records, photographs, and books related to the community, MATC's student population, and our evolving academic programs.
Catherine Lechmaier Makerspace
The Catherine Lechmaier Makerspace, founded by the Student Government Association on May 4, 2017, provides hands-on career exploration opportunities through the Oak Creek Campus Library. Featuring opportunities in Robotics, Fabrication, Audio-Visual and Electronics; this space is free and open to the public. Student Workers studying in related fields are on staff to assist you with your next project.

Libraries provide non-partisan information on how to register to vote and where to vote as part of their services. Our voting guide has more information.

An informed public is critical to democracy. But how do we become accurately informed? We are bombarded with political information on the Internet, on the news, and on commercials. Active participation is required to separate fact from fiction and find out where people really stand.

Celebrate National Library Week with us!

All week at any library location, for any book (print or audiobook) checked out from the collection, choose a reading-themed vinyl sticker (great for water bottles, binders, and decorating your personal devices)! Completing the Library Services Wordsearch and survey earns you a sticker, too!*
Are you more of a cinephile? We’ve got you! Fill out the streaming video survey at the library or check out a DVD or Blu-ray and receive a treat to take home for your movie night! (One per person, please!)*
April is National Poetry Month! Have fun creating your own poetry on our giant magnetic poetry boards!

*Giveaways are available to all library patrons, students or employees, while supplies last.

Conversation & Coffee Sessions
