Library Instruction Scheduling: Home

Information on scheduling library instruction for your classes.

Instruction Scheduling Process

The MATC Libraries offer both online and face-to-face instruction sessions tailored to meet the learning needs of students and their class assignments.  Instruction librarians will introduce students to the resources and search strategies that are most appropriate for the assignment, topic and level of student expertise. In order to provide the most effective online instructional experience, instruction will be provided at the point-of-need, and in conjunction with a required assignment.

To provide the best experience for the student:

  • The instructor must attend all library instruction sessions for which you schedule your class. When you are present, students are more attentive and will have the opportunity to ask questions about how the library session applies to their assignment.

  • The library instruction must correspond with a particular course assignment and be presented to students no less than one week before the projected due date.

  • To allow successful collaboration between librarian and instructor, requests to schedule instruction sessions should be submitted a minimum of one week prior to the desired date for the presentation.

  • Online library instruction is provided using Google Meet.

We look forward to working with you on this collaborative model of library instruction!  Please fill out the Instruction Request form to get started.
