The library offers instruction sessions tailored to meet the learning needs of students and their class assignments. Instruction librarians will introduce students to the resources and search strategies that are most appropriate for the assignment, topic and level of student expertise. In order to provide the most effective instructional experience, instruction will now be provided at the the point-of-need and in conjunction with a required assignment.
To provide the best experience for the student:
As an instructor, you must attend all library instruction sessions for which you schedule your class. When you are present, students are more attentive and will have the opportunity to ask questions about how the library session applies to their assignment.
The library instruction must correspond with a particular course assignment and be presented no less than one week before the projected due date.
To allow successful collaboration between librarian and instructor, please allow a minimum of one week to schedule the instruction session.
We look forward to working with you on this new collaborative model of library instruction! Please fill out the Instruction Request form to get started.
