Journal #4: Listening and Note-Taking

Use the following journal prompts to reflect on listening and note-taking:

A) Which of the five note-taking examples is closest to how you take your notes?  How does your note-taking system compliment your learning style?  Do you plan to try any of the other note-taking methods, and if so, which, and why?

B) Give three examples of active listening in college other than listening to a lecture in class.

C) Give an example of a time when you were listening to someone who said something you did not agree with.  Did you use active listening skills, or did you try to tune them out?  What was your reaction to what they were saying?  How would you deal with this situation if you were working on a team project in class with someone who said something you did not agree with?
