The Center for Engaged and Service Learning team will serve the mission of the college by providing the following services to faculty: 

  • Expand student access to community engagement opportunities via service learning and volunteering, curriculum alignment, Community Connection web platform, and proper data collection 

  • Partnership cultivation

  • Support instructors who seek to integrate service-learning pedagogies, via workshops and peer support initiatives

  • Enhance understanding of impact by working with IR 

  • Represent MATC in Campus Compact, including the Wisconsin affiliate network, to advance student civic dialogue, diversity/equity/inclusion, voting, and democratic process alongside peers in the UW System, WTCS and private universities

  • Collaborate with Student Life Offices on each campus to enhance and expand services to students including use of “Campus Labs Engage”

  • Engage with Student Life at each campus to align activities that take place in the classroom to those that may be done in common areas for students (e.g., tabling events) for higher impact across our institution

  • Participate in Campus leadership teams to support and enhance ongoing initiatives on each regional MATC campus

  • Support MATC faculty and staff community volunteer efforts (i.e. MATC Day in the Community)

  • Provide guidance and training for faculty to gain FQAS credits in the area of service-learning as a high impact teaching practice to enhance teaching excellence within MATC

  • Act as ambassadors with community-based agencies to enhance regional community engagement efforts at each MATC campus location
