MATC Library Services and Resources 2020-2021: Home

Find out what MATC Library services are available this semester, and what safety protocols have been implemented.

The MATC Library is open!!

A limited number of laptops are available for semester-long checkout at both the Downtown Milwaukee and the Oak Creek Campus Libraries on a first-come, first-served basis to students not receiving a Chromebook. Additionally, the Oak Creek Campus Library has a limited supply of hotspots available. Please fill out the Library Equipment Agreement Form prior to pickup.

See the Library 2020-2021 guide for information on new protocols and procedures, including but not limited to: where to return items, how to reserve a seat, and how to sign up for text message notifications. The library's online resources are always available. Virtual Library assistance is available on our Get Help page during Library hours, and after hours support is available on our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page. Please let us know how your experience with our virtual service was by filling out this brief survey

The MATC Libraries are reopening, but to ensure that we can keep a clean and safe space for students and employees, the following precautions and safe guards have been implemented:

  • Masks are required at all MATC campuses, including all MATC Libraries.
  • Library spaces have been modified by reducing the number of seats to allow for safe distancing, and group study is temporarily unavailable.
  • We are limiting the number of people in the Library at one time.
  • We welcome walk-in visitors, but we ask that you reserve a seat if you want to study in the Library. This can be done ahead of time or with the help of a Library staff member when you arrive.
  • Reservations are limited to (2) hours at a time, with a maximum of (4) hours per day.
  • If you are just coming to pick up an item, we encourage you to request/hold the item online first, so that we have it ready for you when you arrive.
  • We are limiting touch points, so books, videos, magazines, newspapers, etc. in the Library will not be available to browse. If you want an item, Library Staff will be happy to get it for you.
  • We are cleaning and sanitizing all items that are touched.
  • Please return items in hallway book slots or outside book drop boxes.
  • Returned items will be quarantined for (72) hours.
  • Please, no food or beverages at this time
  • Please allow for the possibility of longer wait times due to limited services and staffing.
