Makerspace

Two Audio-Technica AT2020 microphones are available for in-house use to record high-quality audio sound. They connect to a variety of devices with USB input, and also have an optional pop filter available for clarity of sound. 

Group study rooms can be reserved for use of this equipment.

VideoSky camcorders featuring full HD 1080P 30FPS 24 MP recording with 16X zoom can be used for video recording projects.  These cameras have an attached microphone, anti-shake, built-in fill light, self-timer, and other functions.  An SD card is required for you to capture video (64 or 128 GB class 10 recommended for video). Tripods are also available. 

Hue Animation Studio is a stop motion animation camera and software kit that can be used to complete physical stop motion animation projects.  

The Makerspace also has MacBooks with Adobe Software for use in the space. 

For those who want to engage in traditional hand-drawn animation, the Makerspace has a large standing-height light table. 

The Makerspace is also home to the Animation Cohort, a group of students who work on animations for both PBS as well as other MATC-related projects in animation and graphic design.  If you are a representative of a department at MATC interested in short animations for your department, please contact us as makerspace@matc.edu and use the subject line 'Animation Request'. 

Two different background setups are available, as well as LED lighting.  A variety of backgrounds are available for use. Some are featured below.  We also have a room with a green wall which can be reserved.  Please contact us at makerspace@matc.edu for the most current options available.
