What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

The InterLibrary Loan (ILL) program allows students, faculty, and staff, to request books, A/V materials and journal articles from other participating libraries based on that library’s circulation policy. The items are then shipped to MATC.

  • You must have a current MATC ID number to borrow ILL items.
  • There is a maximum of 5 ILL requests per week by an individual.
  • ILL requests are NOT made for textbooks or for items the MATC Library already owns.
  • ILL requests may take up to 3 weeks to receive.
  • Although we will give it our best effort, we cannot guarantee that the materials you need will be available.
  • The loan period for ILL items is typically 2 weeks.
  • Renewals are up to the discretion of the owning library.
  • Fees will be applied to overdue or lost interlibrary loan items.
  • A librarian will contact you to confirm your request.
