Academic Support, Oak Creek Campus: Tutoring

Learn about tutoring (and more) at the Academic Support Center in A208 at the South Campus.

Can I get tutored at South Campus?

Yes!

If you come to our Academic Support Center, in Room A208, we can get you set up for tutoring.

Also, read on for more details!

How do I sign up for tutoring?

If you want to get tutored, feel free to come into Room A208 and stop at the front desk. We mainly offer walk-in help, but if you want to schedule some one-on-one sit-down time with one of our tutors, you are able to fill out one of our tutor request forms that you can get from the front desk. Depending on what you need help in, we can see what times work out for both you and our tutor, then set up a schedule for you.

It is up to you and your tutor to plan out the rest of your schedule after the first time you meet — our tutors are very flexible to meet your needs!

Feel free to download and print the PDF of our Tutor Request Form below to bring in next time you visit.

PLEASE REMEMBER!: Some of our tutors have appointments during their work hours, so they are not always available for walk-in tutoring. To ensure you have time to meet with your tutor, please refer to the Tutor Request form in the above section! Or, call ahead of time to see if someone is available for walk-in help. Staff members are for walk-in assistance only, no reservations required.

How do things differ from Downtown?

One big difference is the number of tutors we have available at the South Campus. While Downtown may have over 100 tutors, South may only have about 5. What we lack in numbers, we try to make up in knowledge! All of our tutors are knowledgeable in multiple subject areas.

Unfortunately, due to our small staff size, we may not have the help available at the time you request. For example, we may not have a math tutor available to sit down and work out a problem with you the moment you walk in. But we will always give you alternative options — telling you the hours our tutors are in or referring you to another campus that may have the available resources (click the link for more tutoring schedules).

Another difference is that we do all of our tutoring in the Academic Support Center. Our ASC combines the math lab, writing lab, science lab, testing lab, and computer labs all into one.

We're a one-stop shop for all your academic needs!

What if I want to BE a tutor?

Great! We'd love to hear from you!
